Stylists Own is an Australian clothing and accessory label founded in 2011 by Billie Gray.
After many years of reading "Stylists Own" in the creative credits of my favorite editorial shoots & working within the industry,
I finally decided to do things on my own terms and make 'Stylists Own' a reality.

The idea came as an extension of my personal wardrobe and want for things that I could wear for more than a season..
Things that I couldn't find anywhere else; or have to pay a ridiculous amount for.
Pieces which seamlessly fit into your wardrobe as if they had been there for years.

I wanted to create a label which offered something appealing to those who appreciate style,
but want more out of their clothes than a simple passing phase or ten minute trend.
Something that they can wear, no matter the season or number of years old it is,
that they are not going to see mass produced or on twenty other people that afternoon.
Pieces which they can keep and feel comfortable and compelled to wear for more than 2weeks.

Stylists Own is for those that love the beauty of simple; but love the little details.
Love aesthetics, love the idea of 'it items' street and 'model-off-duty' style dressing,
but still want to interpret that in their own way so they don't just look like everyone else.

Both the name and underlying concept of the 'Stylists Own'
is inspired by the anonymous pieces you regularly see in the pages of fashion magazines and editorials.  
Often these items, credited as "stylists own" are one-off, customized, personal or special vintage favourites
which belong to the stylist or model them self and are used time and time again to effortlessly add to the mood or aesthetic of any shoot.

I am continualy inspired by worn in favorites, like band tees and boyfriend shirts,
the effortless model off duty aesthetic, interesting fabrics, and a clean colour palette.
I love basics, but strive to be more than just another "basics-with-a-twist" label,
so each piece has unexpected little extras and hand finished detailing.
I love the beauty in destruction and find holes absolutely fascinating; the ultimate sign of being lived in and loved.
